Christchurch-based Optical Laboratories (NZ) Ltd, or OLab, are a leading provider of precision optical support services to opticians around New Zealand.

In 2011 OLab decided to upgrade it's brand identity to firmly differentiate itself within the New Zealand market and define a leadership position for its professional services.

Yellow Pencil's challenge was to modernise the OLab identity so that it communicated dynamism, innovation, precision and quality - values that had made the company a leader in the optical market.

OLab's existing identity elements looked outdated, did little to differentiate the brand, and failed to express the strong service connection that exists between the company and their customers. The revitalized identity is a  distinctive mark that reinforces the relationship between all aspects of the service process - from the customer to account managers, technicians and their products. The identity and a refreshed visual style will be progressively applied to all OLab communications and marketing tools, including advertising, public relations, stationery, signage, dealer promotions, and company vehicles.
