Christchurch Earthquake

July 2010 : As most people are now aware, Christchurch was affected by a 7.1 magnitude earthquake at 4.35am local time on Saturday 4th September 2010.

While a considerable amount of damage has been caused to some parts of our city's regional infrastructure, others escaped relatively unscathed. For everyone here at Yellow Pencil, it is business as usual and we are working hard to ensure that normal services for our clients are not adversely affected. There may however be some unforeseen disruptions in the days ahead as many of our supply partners have been more severely impacted. We will keep you informed of any developments as they come to hand.

If you have any immediate concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us.  We would also like to thank everyone, particularly those outside our region, for their support. To read more about the effects of the Christchurch Earthquake, please click here.

Logo Selected for Inclusion in Design Book

July 2010 :  LogoLounge is an international online database of identity design as well as publishers of an internationally recognised series of design books. We are proud that the identity designed by Yellow Pencil for a New Zealand designed range of childrens high visibility jackets called Roadworks® has been chosen for inclusion in the upcoming LogoLounge Master Series 3, due for publication early in 2011.

Yellow Pencil has been successful on two earlier occasions, having logos for Canterbury West Coast Air Rescue Trust and Wordworks chosen for inclusion in earlier editions.   Click Here to view our logos.

"Chairs, McKenzie and Willis."

April 2010 :  It is with mixed emotions that Yellow Pencil passes the brand development of McKenzie and Willis over to their own recently established 'in-house' creative team, this month. We have thoroughly enjoyed working alongside the Christchurch-based furnishing retailer for the past 16 years and as we thank them for putting their trust in our work over that time, we are confident that the calibre of their newly appointed design director will continue to advance their brand well into the future.
